Pastor Rick maintains a good relationship at every major venue in the South Texas Region, and is a preferred Wedding Officiant at The Ranch at San Patricio, The Venue, The Lumberyard, and many other venues throughout South Texas. Pastor Rick also works well with every wedding planner in the area including Better Together, and Honey & Bee Event planners. He will travel to any venue within a 300 mile radius of Corpus Christi, Texas, where he calls home.
Pastor Rick is a non-denominational Pastor, and has been serving the South Texas community for over 25 years. He is an ordained minister with credentials issued by E4 Ministries (The Assemblies of God International Fellowship).....a non-denominational Christian organization. Understanding that much of South Texas holds to the Catholic faith, Pastor Rick is very familiar with Catholic wedding traditions and can honor many of the sacred Catholic traditions.
He has in the past....and if there is no choice, he will, but it is not his preference. He can communicate in Spanish, and he understands every word in Spanish, but preaching in Spanish is different and he would rather not struggle through your ceremony. He HAS in the past used in-ear translators, or translators that stand next to him. Please let him know if you will require translators, and we will try to come up with the best option. If you want a bilingual ceremony, Pastor Rick will absolutely do his best, and make it a special moment.
In general, the couple counseling depends on the couple and their specific needs. It can range from one session, to several months of sessions. If you would like several marriage counseling sessions before your big day, just let him know and he will make the time.
The difference between a wedding officiant and a Pastor is HUGE! Anybody can go online and become a wedding officiant from a discount, shady, dot com place. For most PASTORS, officiating a wedding is not simply a legal or social formality, it is a spiritual act of blessing and representing God’s design for marriage. Pastor Rick believes that to perform a ceremony outside of that definition would be to step outside of biblical authority and to misrepresent God’s Word. Generally, Pastor Rick loves all people and all backgrounds. Because he believes that the Word of God is inerrant, the only ceremony that he cannot do is a same-sex ceremony. (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). This doesn’t mean that Pastor Rick rejects or withholds love from individuals in same-sex relationships. In fact, Christian love calls for compassion, respect, and kindness toward all people.
Absolutely!!! Many of the ceremonies he does are vow renewals. It's one of his favorite ceremonies to do.
If you are a couple getting married within Nueces County, Pastor Rick hand-delivers the signed marriage license to the county courthouse and sends you a picture of him doing so. If you are a couple getting married outside of Nueces county, Pastor Rick will sign the marriage license and give it back to you so that you can file it with your county seat. Should you want Pastor Rick to travel to your county seat (Outside of Nueces County), just let him know, and you can work out the travel charges with him.
In Nueces County, you can only obtain a marriage license at the County Clerk’s Office. The physical street address is 901 Leopard Street 78401.They accept cash ONLY along with a valid photo ID. Process is expected to take 10-20 minutes. Both parties must be present to apply.
Because ceremonies are so different, the suggested "love-offering" for his services depends on the type of ceremony each couple wants. Ceremonies range from $75 for a simple "I DO" ceremony to $495 for an elaborate wedding. Many factors go into the final cost depending on travel, type of unity ritual, bilingual services, rehearsals, and special requests. He will go over everything with you and you and he will come up with a mutually agreeable amount.
Over his career, Pastor Rick has done and is comfortable officiating all kinds of services and memorials. He has officiated baby dedications, vow renewals, memorial services, funeral services, prayer vigils, invocations, memorial services of all kinds, and so much more.
